Our MTech 2 body kit is designed to fit directly on late-model E30 coupes, sedans, and wagons with E30 plastic bumpers! It does not fit early model E30s, convertibles, or M3s. However, it is possible to modify our kit to fit early model E30s with plastic bumper conversions and convertibles by trimming the bumpers, sideskirts, and door pods.

Will the Garagistic Mtech 2 body kit fit my E30?

Not all E30s are the same! We have alot of information below to help you figure out whether our kit will fit your E30 or not. The very first step, is knowing if you have an early or late model E30. One of the easiest ways to tell is by checking the shape of your tail light.

Fitment

• Directly Fits: Late-model E30s with late-model plastic bumpers (Coupe and Sedan only)
• DOES NOT FIT early model E30s, any convertibles, or M3 
  • Note for Late-model Convertibles: Plastic bumper convertible models will be able to fit the front and rear bumpers only. Our sideskirts and door pods will not fit without modifications. BMW made convertible-specific MTech sideskirts. Our sideskirts are the coupe/sedan version only.
  • Note for Early-model Coupes/Sedans: It is possible to mount the Mtech 2 front bumper on an early model (metal bumper) E30 only by doing a full late-model plastic bumper conversion. This means you will need all of the OEM bumper components from a late model E30. A full guide with part numbers can be found here. The rear bumper can also be mounted by doing a full-plastic bumper conversion; however, the bumper will not match the higher wheel arch of the early model chassis. Serious trimming and modification are required to make the rear bumper fit.
• "But I really want to put the Mtech 2 kit on my convertible or early model E30, how do I make it fit?"
  • Our Mtech 2 body kits CAN be modified to work on early model E30s and convertible models; however, the following information is only a suggestion. This is not an official install guide, and any cuts/modifications you make to the kit should be done at your own risk and discretion. We do not accept returns or offer refunds on modified bumpers, sideskirts, wings, or any other body panels. We highly recommend consulting a professional auto body shop if you would like to modify our kit to fit your vehicle.
  • Mounting the front and rear bumpers:
    • In order to physically mount the Mtech 2 front and rear bumpers onto any E30, all of the OEM late-model plastic bumper parts must first be installed. Early model coupes, sedans, and verts will all need to be converted to plastic bumpers first.
  • Early model rear arches:
    • Early model E30s, whether they are coupes, sedans, or verts, will all have a higher rear arch line. For this reason, late model plastic bumpers and Mtech 2 rear bumpers will not match the arch. The rear bumper will need to be trimmed to match the higher arch found on early chassis. The rear door pods will also have to be trimmed to match the higher rear arch.
  • Convertible rocker panels and sideskirts:
    • E30 convertibles have a larger rocker panel section compared to coupe and sedan models. This is because of the reinforced rocker panels that BMW designed for the convertible models in an attempt to regain some chassis rigidity lost when removing the roof. In order to install our sideskirts and door pods, the bottom lip of the sideskirts will have to be cut and bolted directly onto the rocker panel to meet the door pods at the seam.

• Does not fit: E30 M3, or convertibles, or early model coupes and sedans
