The Details

A modern twist on a classic design. The Garagistic Aluminum vintage shift knob. Based on the classic mushroom-shaped shift knob found in E30s and E28s, we made a modernized aluminum version! Made in house in the USA, these aluminum Vintage shift knobs offer a better throw feel and control with unmatched quality and no ghetto side set screw setups to hold it in place. Machined in our Westminster CA location using 6061 aluminum!

With that shift knob paired with our Supreme Short Shifter, you have an easy-to-install and completely modular setup ‚ì meaning you can easily switch between different shifter rod heights and different shift knob types (something other short shifters do not have) and even allows the use of different length shifters and shift knobs from our solid mount family. Not to mention you can adjust the throw to your liking. The "longest" setting simulates what the common OEM+ upgrade z3 shifter would feel like. Move it lower and the throw becomes shorter and shorter as you move the lower pivot down. Our Supreme Short Shifter does not eliminate the OEM shifter carrier unlike our Solid Shifter, so you can use this shifter with OEM rubber engine and transmission bushings! We are constantly making improvements on our parts and the shifter now has a fully threaded center rod and ball for maximum adjustability and compatibility. This is the ultimate short shifter for your street-driven BMW or track E30.

Please note: Because this shifter rod is straight (not bent like most BMW OEM shifters), many applications may require a custom-length DSSR. If you are unsure what length you will need, reach out to us at support@garagistic.com and we will help you figure that out! We have over 80 configurations of DSSR's, so it is crucial to include the last 7 of your VIN for us to reference and assist us in determining which DSSR is appropriate for your application.

• Shifter Cup
• Rear Shifter Carrier Bushing

Will this shifter fit my car?

• Although this Fits Most BMW chassis such as E30, E36, E46, Z3, E39, E34, and many more, this prepackaged combo works best in an E30 (most period correct combo!)
• Will not work with E30 driveshaft vibration damper, it will need to be removed
