E30 24V 10 DEGREE TWIST DSSR SELECTOR ROD - 25111220838

Introducing the Garagistic E30 187mm 10 degree twist DSSR. This DSSR is meant for all E30s that have been motor swapped to any DOHC 24v motors (such as M50, S50, S52, M52 etc etc) but are still using the getrag 260 transmission originally found in 6 cyl E30s. This DSSR will only work for that swap configuration. We have other DSSRs for stock motor cars.

Why does this DSSR have a 10 degree twist in it?

Because when you swap a DOHC motor into an E30 , the position of the motor is tilted which tilts the transmission 10 degrees. This is why our transmission brace is used to tilt the transmission to account for this lean. So now that the transmission is tilted in the correct position you need to then center the shifter into the E30 hole again. This is where the 10degree twist DSSR comes in. Not only does it center the shifter in the hole, it also gives you all the benefits of a DSSR.

Installation Instructions

 

Step 1: With a flat head screwdriver remove the locking clip by pushing on the inside lip of the clip to slide it off the selector rod on the shifter side on selector joint side.

Step 2: Wiggle and pull the selector rod until its free on both ends. Pay attention to the bends of the selector rod and how it came off as it will be your guide on how to install the DSSR in the proper direction.

Step 3: Grab your garagistic DSSR and starting with the selector joint side first line up the holes on the DSSR with the selector joint. It should be a tight fit but if its too tight open the tabs a bit till you achieve proper fitment. Once aligned slide the provided pins in with a washer on each side followed by the c-clip to lock it in. Repeat on the shifter side.

 

Notice: If you upgraded to a Z3 shifter you will have to shave down the sides of the shifter for the DSSR to fit
