Well the first reason is that it was in the terms and conditions on checkout. However there is a better reason. Honest companies charge restocking fees for a very simple reason: to keep costs (and thus prices for you) down when dealing with the return of items that are not defective. There are a lot of costs associated with processing an order. If you buy something and then return it, there is more costs to handle the return.
All returns must be thoroughly inspected when received back at the warehouse to ensure they are in 100% resalable condition. New packaging materials usually need to be utilized because it is typically only designed to be used two times (initial use and possible return shipment). Time and materials involved inspecting, repackaging and restocking are not insignificant. The bottom line is restocking fees help keep prices low for you!
For this reason we do not accept returns on any used or previously installed products. We will not sell used products to our customers who are expecting brand new Garagistic parts. At times we may have to charge a higher restocking fee on a return if the parts are damaged during the return shipping. It is your responsibility to ensure the safe arrival of the parts you are returning to us. Thanks!
Inspired by the E30 DTM Group A race cars, we designed a modern fuel cell solution to pay homage to the era of racing that birthed the legend of the E30 M3. By mounting the fuel cell inside of the spare wheel well, just like the historic race cars, the weight is moved farther back, which can assist in the addition of rear-end grip, especially for vehicles running stiff race suspension and true rear coilovers.
Using the Radium Engineering spare tire fuel cell (Part number 20-0611 R11A) we are able to install the fuel cell bracket without any cutting of the trunk or spare wheel well being required. The 10.5-gallon fuel cell drops in perfectly to the stock spare tire wheel well with a nice 1-inch gap between the fuel cell and the walls of the wheel well. The only modification required will be to remove the spare tire mounting stud; this can be done easily by using a spot weld remover.
By keeping the fuel cell inside of the spare tire wheel well, the fuel cell is protected from all sides and not exposed to rocks and debris, which could otherwise hit the fuel cell as is common in most other applications that require the trunk floor to be fully removed.
Step 1: Remove the spare tire mounting stud by drilling out the two spot welds that hold it in place.
Step 2: Bolt our mounting bracket to your fuel cell and center it inside the wheel well. Note: The outer silhouette of our bracket follows the OEM stamping of the trunk floor, making it easy to center the fuel cell
Step 3: Mark the holes for mounting the fuel cell bracket to the trunk.
Step 4: Drill the holes and fasten the fuel cell using the supplied nuts and bolts to fully secure the fuel cell to the trunk.
Step 5 (Optional): Use weather liner to create a nice water and air seal, which will also act as a vibration dampener for the fuel cell.
Step 6: Locate the two small existing holes on the trunk latch bracket.
Step 7: Use a 1/4" dill to enlarge the holes.
Step 8: Use the supplied M6 hardware to mount the tube to the bracket.
Once installed, you should have a snug and protected fuel cell, with a stealthy and accessible fuel fill port!
