BMW E30 190MM DSSR (25111221321 / 25111220565)
Introducing the Garagistic E30 325ix 190mm DSSR for your 1987-1991 325IX only!. (Replaces 25111221321 & 25111220565) To start off, what is a DSSR you ask? Well it stands for double shear selector rod, it's a selector rod that will spread the torsional force on both sides of the selector rod instead of the OEM piece which connects from one side only. Based on the concept of the E30 M3 DTM cars of legend! Going to a DSSR in your E30 will mean less play in the shifter, (decreases side to side motion). This means a more precise and smooth shift every time.
Now to the details. This shift rod is made of Stainless steel and welded right here in our shop in Westminster CA, USA from high grade stainless for the ultimate in durability, fit and finish and as always is backed by our Garagistic NO QUESTIONS ASKED Lifetime Warranty. If for any reason you are unsatisfied with the product you can send it back for a full refund. Please note: NOT compatible with OEM shifter stalk without modification, we highly recommend upgrading to the Z3 1.9 shifter for ease of install and improved shifting. (some shifters will need to be slightly filed down to fit). Z3 shifter can be found HERE The 325IX came with two different selector rods. Cars made prior to 09/1989 came equipped with PN 25111220565 and the early style longer selector joint. Cars made 09/1989 and later came equipped with PN 25111221321 and should have the late model selector joint. All 325IX models 09/1989 and earlier must change to later BMW selector joint part# 25117503525 . Please double check which selector joint you have this DSSR will ONLY work with the later model selector joint.
EVERY E30 DSSR KIT INCLUDES
- 190mm E30 325IX DSSR
- Necessary hardware BMW selector joint part #25117503525 (added option!)
Step 1: With a flat head screwdriver remove the locking clip by pushing on the inside lip of the clip to slide it off the selector rod on the shifter side on selector joint side.
Step 2: Wiggle and pull the selector rod until its free on both ends. Pay attention to the bends of the selector rod and how it came off as it will be your guide on how to install the DSSR in the proper direction.
Step 3: Grab your garagistic DSSR and starting with the selector joint side first line up the holes on the DSSR with the selector joint. It should be a tight fit but if its too tight open the tabs a bit till you achieve proper fitment. Once aligned slide the provided pins in with a washer on each side followed by the c-clip to lock it in. Repeat on the shifter side.
Notice: If you upgraded to a Z3 shifter you will have to shave down the sides of the shifter for the DSSR to fit
